Sacred life, Such a life

Our capacity to enter into sacred relationships depends in great measure upon our heart's awakening to a sufficient degree so that we feel grateful for all encounters with others who cross our path. Gratitude may be seen as a signpost of the heart's opening, and an indication that the self is no longer willing to act out of unconsciousness, indifference, or motives that are less than respectful of the sacred life of others.

All too often in the past, we have ignored the person before us, paying attention only to the roles they played or the purpose they served, never bothering to find out the human element, because we, too, were circumscribed by our own role definitions. This 'functional' way of relating is no longer possible within a sacred life, for such a life is one in which there are neither 'things' nor people who may be seen as 'things'. A sacred life requires of us that we become responsible for noticing what we are doing, for being conscious within our interactions with others, and for being as present as possible so that these interactions can be truthful and of service to ourselves and to another.

The sacred lives within every interaction. It is the medium within which the exchange of life between souls takes place. A sense of gratitude for what life permits in the way of sharing corresponds to an understanding that within each encounter lies the gift of truly meeting another who is part of us and part of God, and within each encounter lie opportunities for learning that are part of the great mystery of Creation. For both reasons, encounters with others, when seen as part of a sacred life, will always be met with gratitude.

Further, a sacred life prevents us from assuming that we are entitled to things just because we want or need them. Where love is wanted or needed, gratitude is the expression of a heart that is glad to receive it. Where honesty is what is needed, gratitude is the expression of the gladness to receive information or truth. Where simple recognition of our being a brother or sister soul is needed with reverence and respect for the Divine that lives within, gratitude exists when another shows up in a state of love or recognition.

Taking others for granted, by contrast, has the opposite effect. It allows us to diminish or not notice the value of what we are being given. It places little importance or no importance on our responsibility for being present and conscious as we engage in encounters with others. It allows life to remain centered around ourselves and our own needs and fears, rather than allowing life and others within our life to become fully real to us. The attitude which permits taking others for granted is a sign of spiritual immaturity, no matter what other developments may have taken place within the embodied self, for it maintains the supremacy and centrality of the needs and wants of the self over all others, including God. This is an attitude that can only be maintained when the heart has not opened fully to the power of its own love.

As a way of healing such tendencies, we can notice, for example, when, on any given day, we have felt and expressed gratitude, and when we have acted unconsciously or been neglectful of our own inner state or of the inner state of others. As a practice, we can pray to become more aware of the roots of self-centeredness within us which generally reside in fear and self-protection, and ask to experience an increase in both trust and love so that these roots can dry up.

When we are grateful for everything that comes to us in life, whether large or small, and are able to see each living being as filled with the same life of soul that we possess, we will no longer be able to live without gratitude, because it will have become part of a heart that has discovered universal love, and it will have become part of a heart that now beats with two centers, not one - the center of self and the center that resides in the Heart of God. Such a heart will inevitably create for itself a sacred life, for only such a life will allow it the freedom that permits the full and unlimited expression of the heart and of the soul.

The Language of The Heart

God speaks within each heart in its own language. Each can understand the whispering of a Divine message because it corresponds to the voice, and sound, and feel of truth with which they resonate.

God’s language is of the heart. It is intimately so. It announces itself to each soul in the way that each can most deeply receive, creating the understanding that one is known and loved.

With human beings it is not so. Human beings must find a language to speak to the heart of another so that they are heard and so that their message can be understood. Human beings must transcend their own preconceptions about how others ‘should’ feel in order to meet others in what they do feel. Only then can the other feel ‘met’.

The language of the heart is universal in its message of love but it is not universal in its expression. To send an emissary of love most deeply into the heart of a loved one, it requires an understanding of what can be most deeply received. It requires a process of listening closely to what the beloved feels, and how they may best receive the tender imprint of love.

Listening is very important, for the language of one is not the language of another. Each being yearns for the voice and message that will allow it to know that it is seen completely, that it is known completely. Each yearns for the complete knowing that is based on the truth of who one is as perceived by a love that sees all.

To communicate love, the expression of one must touch the heart of the other. There must be a matching of what is given and what is received. Often, this is not the case. Often, what happens is that incomplete awareness causes one to project feelings and needs onto another without really knowing what the other desires or how they can best feel met. Openness to love beyond need is the remedy for this situation, for in a state of need it is hard to eliminate projections. In a state of need, there is not room to know, or feel, or sense, what another is wishing for.

The language of the heart, nevertheless, can bypass many limitations and obstacles if the desire to convey love is strong. When such is the case, the intention gets through, even if imperfectly. Nevertheless, it is possible as one joins more with one’s soul essence, to know more intimately the language of love the way that God knows it, the way that the trees and the sun know it that give of themselves freely and without preconception. This giving freely is the language of love. It is the pure desire to bless and nurture that finds its outer expression in all languages and within all forms. It is the pure desire to help others thrive.

God’s heart is a universal heart, beating within the hearts of all at the deepest level. Therefore, it is not impossible for anyone to love more deeply, more beautifully, more completely. It only means finding the adequate expression for the great flow of love that is already present. It also means getting out of one’s own way with conditions that must be met in order for love to be given. For the divine Heart there are no conditions, and for the human heart that is Divine at its core there need not be conditions either, once the deepest layer of love can be touched, once the Divine flow becomes the source of one’s identity. This flow can eliminate all sense of lack and limitation which arise at more superficial levels of the self. It can replace all emptiness with beauty.

As with many things within the spiritual realm, it is a matter of realizing one’s greater wholeness, of believing in that and becoming that. Such joining can eliminate all wounds of the past because the Source of love is not influenced by past wounds. No matter what one’s past experience, it remains pure. For this reason, one can seek the Divine flow of love within, knowing that within each human heart beats the Divine heart, sending forth its eternal message. This is the source from which all relationships can be blessed. It is the source from which a new world can be created.

The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind

Everyone has the power and ability to make dramatic changes and improvements in their lives by learning how to access and use the power of your subconscious mind. At first, this may sound like a bold statement to make and you might even wonder how this is even possible? Your subconscious mind is the unconscious part of yourself that creates and controls your life.

Do you ever find yourself reflecting upon past events that happened in your life? Regardless of the events that took place, your subconscious mind is essentially the storage house of all your memories, habits and much, much more.

When you learn a new skill like riding a bike for example or perhaps driving a car, you start off by doing it all on a conscious level. Then, after several attempts and through the natural process of trial and error, you eventually learn the skill so well that it becomes an unconscious habit that you can perform without having to consciously think about it. This is just one example of how your subconscious mind works. However, it only represents a tiny portion of what your subconscious mind can do for you when you learn and understand how to use it to your advantage, in virtually every aspect of your life.

Keys to Accessing The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

1. Imagination – Begin to train your subconscious mind by imagining the changes, improvements or things that you want in life. For example, if you want to lose weight, then you should imagine yourself as a naturally thin person and at your ideal weight.

2. Emotions – Develop a burning desire or feeling of how excited you would feel as a result of having your desires fulfilled. Some people leverage their emotion of desire to help drive them to take the necessary actions needed to achieve their goals, while others experience better results by mentally bathing themselves in the joy and satisfaction of the feeling of having the goal fulfilled.

3. Faith and Persistence – I want you to think about this for a second. If you were a builder and you were building a new house, would you stop working on it before it was complete? Most likely you wouldn’t stop. Yet, so many people give up before they reach their desired results and then they turn around a say, “It doesn’t work.”

In order to get the results you want, you will have to practice diligently and consistently work on training your subconscious mind to accept your new goal, so that it can work for or with you, helping to manifest it into your reality.

Benefits of Accessing and Developing Your Subconscious Mind

1. You will have more control over your habits and behaviors. This might include things such as eating healthier, exercising more often, drinking less alcohol, no longer having the desire to smoke, and so much more.

2. You can start to change how you feel about yourself and your life. You can program yourself to be more positive and optimistic.

3. You will be able to achieve bigger goals faster than you ever thought possible.

So there you have it. These are just a few of the many benefits that you will be able to enjoy as a result of learning how to access and use the power of your subconscious mind for positive changes in your life.

By learning how to access and use the power of your subconscious mind, you can completely change your entire life and become the kind of person that you truly wish to become.
